Stylist vs Hairdresser

It’s a question I get asked a lot, and it’s a fair one! On the surface, it might seem like “hair is hair,” but bridal hairstyling is a completely different world. Your wedding day is one of the most photographed, emotional, and unforgettable days of your life and my role as a bridal stylist is so much more than simply “doing your hair.”
A Different Kind of Training
I’m not a hairdresser in the traditional salon sense, I specialise solely in bridal and occasion hair. That means my training, experience, and focus are entirely centred around creating timeless, elegant, and long-lasting styles that will hold beautifully from early morning right through to the last dance. I invest heavily in regular workshops and masterclasses to keep my techniques and trends current, ensuring every bride feels modern and confident.
More Than a Quick Appointment
Unlike a local salon visit, bridal hairstyling isn’t a simple one-hour slot. Before your big day even arrives, there’s a lot that happens behind the scenes, from back-and-forth emails to timing plans for the morning, coordinating with your makeup artist, and ensuring everyone in your bridal party knows exactly when and where they’ll be needed.
Early Starts & On-Site Service
Bridal mornings often start very early, sometimes before sunrise and I travel to your chosen venue or home to be there for you. I don’t just style and leave; I’m with you until you’re ready to walk down the aisle, making sure every strand is in place for those final photos.
Quality Products & Hair Prep
Creating a flawless bridal look requires premium styling products and high-performance tools that last the entire day and night. These professional-grade products don’t come cheap, but they ensure your hair stays picture-perfect no matter the weather, emotions, or dance moves. Hair prep also takes time, it’s not just about the finished look, but creating the right foundation so your style lasts.
The Extra Mile
Beyond the hair itself, I’m there to support you however I can. I’ve helped brides into dresses, fastened necklaces, pinned buttonholes, and even cuddled babies while mums got ready. Those little moments matter and they’re all part of making your morning calm, enjoyable, and stress-free.
The True Value
When you book a bridal stylist, you’re not just paying for a hairstyle. You’re investing in expertise, experience, time, and peace of mind. My goal is to make you feel your absolute best on one of the most important days of your life and to ensure every detail, big or small, is handled with care.
Your wedding day deserves nothing less.
